The project began in 1994 and offers a variety of material for school research in the area of folklore and popular culture. The collection travels around in two suitcases with a selection of books, press cuttings, photographs, woodcuts, music and videos on various topics, plus texts supporting the teacherâ??s work.
Its purpose is to open up more explicit discussion in the school on the meaning of school studies in general, and more specifically in the area of popular culture. There are five equal series, one that stays in the Amadeu Amaral Library of the National Centre of Folklore and Popular Culture for the general public to consult, and four travel around.
