Manuel Diégues Júnior Prize
The purpose of the Manuel Diégues Júnior Prize for documentaries on popular culture, dating from 1997, within the scope of the International Ethnographic Film Festival, is to promote the recent video-movie production on Brazilian folklore and popular culture, considering three documentaries of those participating in the Festival, according to the following categories:
• importance of the topic for the area;
• development of research/script;
• concept and accomplishment.
It offers a cash prize and statuette made by a popular artist.
