The Amadeu Amaral Library was created in 1961, specialising in folklore and cultural anthropology. It provides free consultations, periodicals, leaflets, theses, cordel literature, press cuttings, photographs, records, CDs, tapes, films and videos.
It is one of the largest collection of folklore and popular culture in Latin America, with around 200,000 documents that from specific projects are gradually being digitalised and provided on the Internet.
